A Government backed cash back deal for the buyer of Delaware House
In a nut shell, home owners who install "Renewable Heat Equipment" after July 2009 should be eligible to receive incentive payments as a result of owning such equipment.
Based on the proposals, Delaware House is almost unique, certainly locally, in terms of houses currently on the market that are eligible for this incentive payment.
Delaware House has been built to high standards of energy efficiency, using a Ground Source Heat Pump to heat the house and the hot water, and also incorporating more insulation in the floors, walls and roof than required by current building regulation standards.
The Ground Source Heat Pump was commissioned in December 2009, which means that the house owner is eligible to receive a "Renewable Heat Incentive" payment each year for 23 years, under the proposals issued by the Department of Energy & Climate Change in February 2010 (www.decc.gov.uk).
The proposals indicate that the owner of Delaware House would be eligible to receive around £1,500 to £2,000 per year for 23 years, which ought to cover more than the energy costs incurred in heating the house and hot water during these years based on current rates.
